Project Description

Something vibrant and unostentatious and contemporary.
Something that connects the outside, to a living area, to a table for the children primarily, to the kitchen.
Something geared towards a young family.

The extension has been designed by the architect Dale Allen. The property was once a working oast. Massive, tall and strong. The extension mirrors this. The original brick has been left exposed the ceiling is very high the architectural features are strong with curved roof trusses.
We needed to take nothing away from this. Something simple. We needed a design that took nothing away from the fabulous view and the garden.

A simple combination of materials. Black veneered oak contrasting with matt white lacquered furniture with stainless steel detailing.
From the island you look out over the induction hob and the extraction over a glass table though the living area to the outside.
The pale green walls and chairs and the pink light fittings are fun and light and this helped to give the room its bouncy vibrant characteristics.
Loved the wine rack.
